Experiential marketing is key to campaign success.

Gone are the days when people just listened to manifesto from politicians not minding whether those promises would be fulfilled or not.
The need for people to feel what they hear is the norm worldwide. Politics is not left out.
Michael Odiong might be a new face in the entertainment and marketing sector, but he has surely paid his dues within the last 15 years of being in the arts as a dancer, actor, student, and at the top management levels in the industry.
Currently the Special Projects Manager of one of the nation’s foremost music company, Premier Records limited, he also doubles as Chief Operating Officer of Derry's Marketing Limited, he  believes that Nigerian politicians must have to step up their game of campaigning if they want to make any significant impact.
According to him, Nigerians are wiser now and can differentiate between the sugar quoted word of a politicians and a truly dedicated politician that is ready to serve.
Unfortunately, we do not have many of the genuine politicians that are ready to sacrifice for the people to contest. Be that as it may, Nigerians are also tired of vague campaign manifestos from politicians, they want to feel the politician, know him and relate with him. That is why we have the American system working because the people have some kind of experiential moments with their would be leaders. President Barracks Obama took time to visit communities, attended town hall meetings and worked through the length and breath of America meeting the people to solicit for their votes. In Nigerian politics, we have the rallies instead of campaigns.
We must understand that rallies are part of campaigns and not the real deal.
That is what we intend to prove with establishment of Derry's Marketing Company Limited.
Marketing is not just about goods and services provided by corporate and companies, but as individuals, the way you brand yourself and make people believe in you will give them the confidence to trust you as a leader.

Michael Odiong
Chief Operating Officer.
Derry's Marketing Company Limited.
