It has taken a bit of time to really pick up steam like her previous hits, Branama and Kokoroko but with the release of this video, the increased visibility on tv stations across the country should give this song that extra push it needs.
For those who don’t know, “Sapele Water” is a local slang for “Ogogoro” or “alcohol”.

BN Exclusive – WORLD PREMIERE: Ty Bello returns to music with “The Future”

BN Exclusive – WORLD PREMIERE: Ty Bello returns to music with “The Future”

By SAMMY

Ty Bello is BACK!
The multi-talented musician/photographer who lit up the music scene with her debut album “Green Land” and smash hit anthem – “Green Land” aka The Land is Green.
BellaNaija.com has just received an exclusive listen of her brand new single – “The Future” and we are sharing it with YOU.
The video for “The Future” is being directed by Kemi Adetiba and will be filmed on Sunday 27th February 2011.
We love the song and the message behind it. We hope you do too!
Story Behind the Music – “The Future”
by Ty Bello
I had committed to writing a jubilee song for Nigeria. I was moved to hone in on my message on December 31, 2010 when we were shocked by the Abuja bombings. In my view, the bombings are a metaphor of the hopelessness and impending tragedy that may lie ahead if we do not become more engaged in building the country we desire. I realize that the crisis in the nation is beyond the political. We each need to personalize Project Nigeria and take a stand for Nigeria NOW. And so, the first lines of the song are about just how important we are as a generation at this time in our history. My hope is that as you listen to this song, you are stirred and realize that the future that we dream of is not way ahead of us. By looking within NOW ,we draw in that future. One action. One person at a time. We must embrace the moment. I leave you with the words of my friend, Fela Durotoye: “Deliver the future: We can. We must. We will.”

We are so impressed by the creativity that is unleashed when Mo’Cheddah, Knighthouse and Yellow Dog collaborate.
Mo provides the vocals, Knighthouse brings the music and Yellow Dog cooks up the visuals.
The result is certainly quirky and definitely interesting.
This is the video for “No Be Money“, a Valentine’s song by Mo’Cheddah with a twist.

Dbanj ft. Snopp Dogg - Mr Endowed (Remix)

Dbanj ft. Snopp Dogg - Mr Endowed (Remix)
Posted by: Sammy  dbanj, Download-, Mp3, NAIJA, naija, Snoop Dogg, ‘Mr Endowed’ remix

It almost seemed like another joke when Dbanj (Dapo Oyebanjo) announced his collaboration with veteran US rapper Snoop Dogg on ‘Mr Endowed’ remix – seeing that many acts before him had made such claims without any evidence to show for it – From Eedris Abdulkareem announcing a purported collabo with Busta Rhymes and Rita Marley, to Psquare’s failed attempt at securing a duet with Busta; Twin-X’s never-seen-never-heard ‘recording with Lil’ Wayne and even Freestyle’s unimpressive T-Pian lie; fans had become skeptical; taking such news of international joints with less than a pinch of salt.
But, those close to the Mohits camp insisted a collabo had indeed happened, and that the cut would be released in a matter of time. Dates were announced; without the song surfacing – Could this be another trick? Another  attempt to fool the fans?
Then, Alas! The cloud of uncertainty covering the collaboration got clearer during the Mo’hits’ Koko concert held on Friday, December 24 2010 where the song (Mr Endowed remix featuring Snoop Dogg) was played. Yes. It was played. But how real was the Dogg Father’s cut on the track? Could it have been doctored? – Critics started asking questions but never got answers.
Now there may no longer be any reasons to doubt Mr Oyebanjo or the Mo’Hits crew, and no one needs any further answers than what the hit-maker is about to bring to our TV screens anytime soon. As many fans are already aware, Dbanj and Don Jazzy have reportedly begun the video shoot in Los Angeles, California with Snoop making a conspicuous appearance in the video.
From the video set, Don Jazzy tweeted:
‘Ok gotta prepare for landing. Chat wiv u guys later. Love always. IDJ’
‘so im in LA and its straight to work. Thanks for the prayers o. catch u guys later.’
‘Video shoot is going fine. we thank God. Uncle snoop people don dey come small small. wen u re big u re big. Chaiii’
‘baba order for special brand of chicken sha. hmmm’
‘Now the anticipation is double, as fans, friends and critics await the acclaimed ‘Mr Endowed’ remix video.’

Interview With Tipsy (To Her Music And Dancing Is Like Mixing Curry With Fried Rice)

Interview With Tipsy (To Her Music And Dancing Is Like Mixing Curry With Fried Rice)

Afrik: From 9ja down to UK, she is a very creative and entertaining lady. (Make I no make her head big too much), They call her Yasky yasky the only Tipsy. Hello dear, how you doing over there

Tipsy:Lol. Hello Afrik, am very well thanx u?

Afrik: As our culture, tell our peeps who Tipsy is (biography)

Tipsy: Well tipsy tipsy tipsy, I am a she(obviously),born and bread in Nigeria, moved down here few years ago. And here I am a dancer, singer and student

Afrik: According to our records, you started as a professional dancer, tell us more about that aspect

Tipsy:‎Well yes, I have always been a dancer, juz sumting I have a real passion for. I took a step forward with the dancing when I got to UK when I started making home videos on youtube, got discovered by certain people and that was where it all began

Afrik: Now, we got a post you are now fully into musik, could you tell us why the switch

Tipsy: I wouldn't call it a switch. I luv dancing as much as I luv testing the microphone. So I juz thought a combination of both would work. Dancing alone for me is amazing but to some people its boring that's why I decided to add something a lil more definable. So its juz like adding curry to fried rice.

Afrik: Lol, someone is trying to tell me she is a good cook. So tell us, has the curry mixed with fried rice been favoring you (musik aspect), and are you currently signed to any management or label

Tipsy: Lol. I can cook o don't test me. Juz that u mite go to the toilet a couple of times after. So far its been favouring me, both the critical side n good side all has been helping me so far. And yes I am signed to bigboyz entertainment. Jjc awoo is d boss

Afrik: Bigboz Ent. Hmmm, that's a big one. So tell us, how do you tend to penetrate into the music world in 9ja while based in the UK

Tipsy: Based in UK. Well to do dat, I have to learn from the ones who have successfully done it. E.g dbanj, jjc. I mean constantly come out with songs that make sense and Nigeria can relate with.

Afrik: Great, which mean we are expecting great hits from you. So let's hit d other side of you (private lyfe), as first lady to be interview here, we might not be easy on you with dis question. So tell us, who is the lucky man that keeps the FIRE burning in your heart.

Tipsy: Clears throat! No answer! My music is burning my heart at the moment! Gbam! Lol. Dat answer will offend people but as e dey go.

Afrik: Hahahaha, Tipsy Tipsy (u sound more like a politician),  Or are you scared of boiz? anyway, let's don't create any form of tension sha!, so what should your fans expect from you 2011

Tipsy: Lol@politician. My mum used to be one, d music industry is ful of politics, Am not scared of boiz, just don't have their time. Nigeria is full of politics. So y nt! Fans should expect great things cos I am bringing controversy into the industry this year. With their love and support it wil all be gbam!

Afrik: Tipsy, are you in anyway related to Terry G cos we could nt stop noticing the word Gbam from you, or is it your own slogan?

Tipsy: Terryg is my brother from another undiscovered mother. D guy don infect me with virus.

Afrik: Let us not go futher befor we also get infected by thesame virus (lol), anyway when should we be expecting your final album and wen u hama u go cum back 2 9ja?

Tipsy: U already answered my question sef. U don see person wey fly without ticket? Lol! Wel final album will be determined by the management but for now I am stil building myself till I get there! Just watch out for bigboyz album

Afrik: Kkk, the queen of bigboyz ent. has said it all. Thanks to you for your time (hope u dnt miss the train again o), and we wish you a speedy 2011

Tipsy: Lol! There are three girls in bigboyz o. No allow them finish me with this bigboyz queen wey u call me! Thank you so much too for taking your time out to inteview this chingchong wey dey singsong.
If I miss d train, I go carry keke napep(did I spel it rite)? Lol.
